BRC Grants
In 2013, the Brain Repair Centre introduced funding for Knowledge Translation (KT), Research Dissemination & Commercialization (RD&C), and Discovery (D) grants. The BRC has since awarded $270K via the KT grants, which in addition to funding specific research projects, has leveraged additional funds by those researchers in excess of $3 million. The total awarded to date as RD&C grants is $45K and $25K as Discovery grants.
The BRC also implemented the Summer Student Scholarship Fund in 2016. As a result of a donation from b.r.a.i.n.child*, the BRC matched the donation and applications were sought from students with an interest in Child-related Neurodevelopment. Through the same peer-reviewed, competitive process used for the KT and RD&C grants, the BRC awarded 4 summer scholarships totalling $18,000, which will be supplemented by the PIs/supervisors of the awardees.
