Springboard Atlantic is hosting "Mind to Market: a Workshop for Medtech" on June 12 and 13, 2013 to provide researchers with the fundamental information and inspiration they need to commercialize their research.

Participants will learn about protecting intellectual property, accessing capital, the importance of a prototype, working through regulation, market analysis and other aspects of commercialization from experts in the field


Brian Lowe is a co-founder and director of First Angel Network Association in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is an accomplished entrepreneur and businessman with over 30 years experience. He has been involved in a number of startups throughout his career and has raised millions of dollars for these companies. He has been responsible for taking technologies to market internationally, resulting in mergers and acquisitions.

Ross Finlay is a co-founder and director of the First Angel Network Association, Atlantic Canada's association for private investors. He has been an angel investor since 2000 and has helped a number of companies raise private equity. He is a recognized facilitator, business planner and strategic change advisor who has an extensive background in public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

"Mind to Market: a Workshop for Medtech" will take place in the Innovation Room at the Life Sciences Research Institute, 1344 Summer Street.

The cost is $50 for general attendance and free for students.
