Dr. Anne Duffy

Over the past 15 years, Dr. Duffy has researched the genetics of bipolar disorder. Her emphasis has been in three main areas: 1) children at risk for bipolar disorder, 2) genetic studies of bipolar disorder in adults, particular lithium responsive subtypes, and 3) treatment issues in mood disordered children and adolescents.
More recently, she joined Dalhousie's Department of Psychiatry to develop an integrated Clinical and Research program for youth at risk for Mood Disorders (unipolar and bipolar disorder). The program provides surveillance and expert timely clinical consultation for children and adolescents at genetic risk for bipolar disorder. The program will expand to include young adults as space and infrastructure become available to link with the adult Mood Disorders clinical and research program.
