Dr. Stephen Phillips

Dr. Stephen Phillips is a stroke neurologist based in the Halifax Infirmary site of the Capital District Health Authority. The Capital Health Stroke Program aims to provide optimal care for stroke patients and their families using an interdisciplinary approach to assessment, clinical management, education, and research that is focused on treatment, outcomes, service delivery, and knowledge translation. Recent research projects have examined the effectiveness of thrombolytic therapy, caregiver burden after stroke, gender differences in stroke care, post stroke 'neglect' syndromes, and cognitive outcomes. Dr. Phillips is an active member of the Canadian Stroke Network, the Canadian Stroke Strategy, the Canadian Stroke Consortium, and the International Stroke Trialists' Collaboration. As well, he is a clinical advisor for Cardiovascular Health Nova Scotia.
