Publication News: Iulianella Lab

The Iulianella Lab published an article on the development of the lateral ventricle choroid plexus in the journal Biology Open.

"The choroid plexuses are epithelial structures that grow into the ventricular spaces of the developing fetal brain and secrete cerebral spinal fluid, which is critical to brain function. Using gene knockout studies in the mouse, our  team found that the novel vertebrate-specific protein Mllt11 regulates the migration of neuroepithelial progenitor cells that fuel the growth of the lateral ventricle choroid plexus in fetal brains. This study was led by former graduate student Sam Moore, with help from postdoctoral fellows Dr.  Daneille Stanton-Turcotte and Emily Witt."
