What We Do

Our Work

We know that collaboration is the key to changing lives. Together, we are exploring new ways of thinking, uncovering exciting avenues for research, solving problems and removing barriers to progress. We are sparking ground-breaking opportunities, accessing funding that changes the landscape, developing new technologies and revealing remarkable breakthroughs and strategies that lead to prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

Our capacity to facilitate extraordinary connections and meaningful relationships result in leading-edge teamwork and real-world applications that are making lives better in our region, our country and our world. We do this by:

  • funding projects that put innovations into the hands of users through commercialization

  • supporting initiatives that transfer research findings into the world of patient care

  • helping scientists and clinician-researchers launch promising new investigations

  • creating a forum for sharing discoveries and ideas

  • encouraging the formation of interdisciplinary teams, bringing in expertise to share their perspectives and stimulate new ideas and ways of approaching problems

  • collaborating within a unique living laboratory* environment to advance neuroscience research and innovation (*living laboratory — a diverse group of talent housed in multiple faculties, laboratories and facilities in Halifax)
