BRC Trainees receive Scotia Scholar Awards

Congratulations to Laith Alhadeed (Friedman), Laura Dauphinee (Christie) and Thomas Snooks (Tibbo) who are all Masters trainees associated with the BRC. They are all SCOTIA SCHOLARS AWARD RECIPIENTS 2023/24.

Laith Alhadeed

An M.Sc. Candidate in Dr. Friedman's Epilepsy Laboratory, Laith is involved with the BRC through volunteering for science communication outreach.

Laura Dauphinee

An MSc Candidate in Dr. Christie’s Lab, Laura is part of the Department of Medical Neuroscience.

Thomas Snooks

An MSc Candidate in Psychiatry Research at Dalhousie University, Thomas is supervised by Dr Phil Tibbo and Dr Sherry Stewart.

The Scotia Scholars Award provides financial support to research trainees with exceptional potential who are engaged in health research at participating Nova Scotia institutions.  This award will support the growth and retention of highly skilled individuals who are advancing and translating knowledge in disease detection, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, strengthening health care delivery systems, caring for vulnerable populations, and promoting better opportunities for future health and wellbeing.  Funding for this award is provided by the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness via Research Nova Scotia.
