Canada-European Union Summit 2023 – Joint Statement

On November 24th in St. John’s Nfld. at a Canada EU Summit, the following statement was issued via the PM’s website: https://www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/2023/11/24/canada-european-union-summit-2023-leaders-joint-statement

Of particular note is Section V on Research and innovation cooperation and responsible digital innovation. Paragraph 27 states: “We reaffirm our support for collaborative partnerships between our science research communities. Today, we are pleased to announce the completion of substantive negotiations on Canada’s association to Pillar II of Horizon Europe, which once signed and implemented will provide new opportunities for international science partnerships on global challenges.”
